Thank you for considering joining the U.S. Marshals Posse - District of Arizona. In brief, we are a civilian all-volunteer group of like-minded individuals who are both privileged and honored to represent the U.S. Marshals - the very first of all Law Enforcement Agencies in the United States.
Our annual dues structure supports our mission. We are a 501(c)3 qualified Non-Profit organization. The annual membership donation is minimal to help support our many programs, while we encourage all of our members to be as generous as they can be.
Our application process requires a prospect to submit the following:
- A completed application (click here to access application)
- Payment, see membership fee for amount ($250 of the fee is non-refundable) to complete the screening process and a formal background check
- A current passport style photo
- A copy of your Arizona CCW license
Once the items above have been received and the background check is complete, you will be contacted to meet and interview with at least three of our Board members. Should you know an existing member, we encourage you to have him or her sponsor/co-sponsor your application.
In addition, an Arizona CCW (or Arizona fingerprint card) is required in order to apply for membership.[4]
$2,500 Application dues include your full first year membership dues and additionally cover cost of 3 U.S. Marshals Posse badges, credentials set with badge wallet, badge leather belt holder, embroidered uniforms with patches, USMP badge hat pin, USMP belt buckle, and supports our mission as a 501(c)3 nonprofit qualified organization. We keep the annual membership fee minimal, encouraging all our members to be as generous as possible. Annual renewal membership dues due date is October 1st every year.
If you are not recommended for membership, you will be refunded the amount you submitted (less $250).
The U.S. Marshals Service requires if your Posse membership is terminated, the 3 USMP badges, credentials, and uniforms must be returned to the Posse. False impersonation of a federal officer is a federal crime governed by 18 U.S. Code Section 912, carrying penalties of fines and up to three years in prison.
